Charles Frontera was born and raised right here in Roseville. He attended Roseville Community Schools from K-12. He later attended classes at Macomb Community College. In 2010 Charles graduated from Wayne State University with a BA in Political Science and a Minor in Speech Communications. While at Wayne State, Charles spent a semester interning for former Congressman Sander Levin at his Roseville office.
In 2007, at the age of 19, Charles Frontera was appointed by then-mayor Harold Haugh to the Roseville Parks and Recreation Board, making him the youngest board member to ever serve in Roseville. He served as Chairman of that board from 2011 until early 2012 when he was appointed to serve on the Recreation Authority of Roseville and Eastpointe (RARE) Board, where he currently serves as Vice-Chairman and past Acting Chairman. He is also past Chairman of the Roseville Community Coalition, fighting against drug and alcohol abuse in the city's youth. Charles Frontera was instrumental in the creation of the Millennial Mayors Congress in 2008 and represented Roseville in that group from its inception until 2015. Along with other local officials and residents, Charles helped form the South Central Macomb Democratic Club in 2016, where he has served as Treasurer since 2018. Charles owned and operated his own small business for over six years and has been active in the local Chamber of Commerce. Charles was re-elected to his second term on Roseville’s City Council in 2019.
