Mayor Taylor has been a member of the City Council since 2006. In 2009, Council appointed Mayor Taylor to the position of Mayor Pro Tem. In 2015 he was elected as Mayor of Roseville and reelected by an overwhelming majority in 2017. Mayor Robert Taylor is a lifetime resident of Roseville, married with 4 children.  Mr. Taylor retired as a Lieutenant after 31 years with the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office. While at the Sheriff’s Office, he performed the duties of SWAT Commander, Special Investigations Supervisor, Traffic Supervisor, Road, and Jail Supervisor. Currently, Mr. Taylor is the Coordinator of Security for Mt Clemens Public Schools and a Security Supervisor for Ilitch Holdings. Mayor Taylor currently serves as the Chairman of the Roseville Zoning Board of Appeals, Chairman of the Roseville Retirement Board, Vice Chairman of the Southeast Macomb Sanitary District, Vice Chairman of the Southeast Macomb County Sanitary Disposal Authority. In 2015, Mayor Taylor was appointed by County Executive Mark Hackel and approved by the Macomb County Board of Commissioners to serve on the Macomb County Solid Waste Committee.
