Information Regarding Evictions & Animals

September 10th, 2021

Over this past week, Macomb County Animal Control has been overwhelmed with animal intakes stemming from evictions. Unfortunately, this has resulted in our department reaching our capacity for animals in our care. We understand and appreciate that all of our neighboring animal control departments are experiencing the same situation. It is imperative that we try to intervene by extending valuable information to tenants/landlords before an eviction occurs. Listed below is valuable information that could make a world of difference to pet owners and our organizations. To find out more about these programs please visit the Macomb County COVID Emergency Rental Assistance (CERA) program. Please be sure to share this information with your residents in hopes to prevent further impact on all our departmental resources.
